AAAbout Usbout Us

Anna Scionti

Vocals, guitar, lap steel & stomp box

The blues comes naturally to Anna. Taking up guitar as a teenager has led Anna to write and play songs of love, tragedy and happiness ... and ultimately fall in love with the blues! Lining up for the Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival International Musician's Challenge and the MBAS Blues Challenge in 2014 ignited a passion for Anna to explore a more intimate connection with blues music.

Think Janis Joplin, Big Mama Thornton or Suzie Quatro’s dirty gravel vocals combined with a rhythm on guitar set by her percussive right hand.  You’ll be saturated by her warm, yet haunting, blues embellished vocals.

MISS WHISKEY is a Melbourne-based blues duo putting their raw and original stamp on blues music.

Formed in 2014 as an avenue to focus on the music they love, they are quickly making their mark on the blues scene. Winning the 2015 MBAS Blues Challenge in the Solo/Duo category, they’ll hit the stage at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2016.

With Anna Scionti on guitar and vocals and Julie Noble on harmonica, this gritty female duo mix up their own original music with classic blues standards from the greats like Junior Wells, Slim Harpo and Big Mama Thornton.

Julie Noble

Harmonica

Playing the blues on harmonica has become second nature to Julie and her passion for it is infectious. Throwing her hat in the ring for Hohner Golden Harmonica Championships at the 2015 Tamworth Country Music Festival, Julie was in her groove taking home the title in the novice section.

Julie’s biggest influences are Slim Harpo, Junior Wells, Paul Butterfield and Little Walter. She just can’t get enough of perfecting this beautiful little instrument, and every time she plays it make her smile. Hearing her play is sure to make you smile too.
